Everyone you know will tell you that drinking fluids, water, and tea especially, helps you lose weight. And what happens from there on?
Most people, at least those that I know, go on a mission to drink as many cups of tea per day as they can. And yet, they are still not losing weight. That being said, I am sure that many of you know that quality beats quantity any day in the week and twice on Sunday. So, what is the best tea for weight loss? There are a couple of obvious choices, so let’s break them down.

Standard Green Tea

Let’s start with the obvious choice, green tea. However, when it comes to green tea, I must note something: there are different types of green tea. Here, we are talking about the standard green tea, made with leaves and tea bags. Thanks to the richness of catechins, mainly EGCG, green tea helps your body burn more fat by increasing your metabolic rate.
Additionally, green tea is rich in antioxidants and contains small doses of caffeine, all of which helps. To lose weight drinking green tea, you need 3 cups per day.

Matcha Green Tea

When you really like to kick things up a notch, I recommend matcha green tea powder for weight loss. The process of brewing matcha green tea is a little more complicated, as you have to brush the powder in your cup, but the effects are better.
Matcha green tea contains more antioxidants, more catechins, and more fat burning compounds than standard green tea, making it even better choice for best tea for weight loss.

Black Tea

Black and green tea are made from the same plant, the difference is in the manufacturing process. However, both contain high doses of catechins and antioxidants, but black tea has different flavonoids. Nevertheless, black tea also helps you burn fat and lose weight. Back tea contains lipase, a digestive enzyme that helps your body process fats. Without lipase, your body absorbs fats rather than digesting them.
The downside of black tea is that the caffeine dose is higher, meaning you cannot consume more than two cups per day.

Detox Tea

Made with several different herbs, detox tea helps with more than just weight loss. The primary function of detox tea is to cleanse your body and organs from toxins and chemicals that are absorbed. However, by doing so, detox tea reduces bloating, improves your digestive system, raises your energy levels, and boosts your metabolic rate for burning fat.
Cleansing your body from toxins is essential for achieving your goal for shedding pounds.

Oolong Tea

Some say oolong tea is a variation of green tea, but it is actually a brand of its own. The similarity is in richness with catechins, which as I mentioned earlier, are responsible for boosting your metabolic burn fat rate. As a result, you promote healthy weight loss. But Oolong tea has one more advantage compared to other teas on the list for best tea for weight loss.
Unlike many other teas for weight loss, oolong tea specifically targets your belly fat. And as well know, belly fat is the hardest fat to get rid of.

Lemon Tea

We are now at the herb portion of best tea for weight loss, and we start you off with lemon tea. Similar as lemons, lemon tea is rich with d-limonene, a compound found in all citrus fruits that have strong diuretic effects.
Lemons and citrus fruits have been used since forever to fight bloating and similar digestive problems. As with every diuretic, lemon tea helps you get rid of excess water, essentially lowering your body weight. I don’t know if you knew, but the best time to measure yourself is in the morning after you’ve been to the toilet. The reason: no water in your body. Sometimes, the scale might show one or two pounds more due to high water consumption through the day.

Mint Tea

Just a sniff at peppermint help you lose weight. Consuming mint tea is even better, as the tea suppresses appetite and sugar cravings. The problem with losing weight is that unhealthy and unbalanced diet can lead to sugar cravings, and sugar makes you fat.
Eliminating the problem and balancing your diet with mint tea will result in weight loss, as many as five pounds in one month.

Chamomile Tea

An underrated reason why you are not losing weight is stress. What happens when you are under stress? I know what I do. I reach for some sugary foods. And I am sure most of you do the same. The result: more sugar in your diet, resulting in even more fat around your belly.
Chamomile tea might not increase your metabolic fat rate, or make you burn fatter, but will eliminate the stress problem. And by not eating unhealthy sugars due to stress, you’ll essentially reduce your weight.

Rooibos Tea

Rooibos tea is extremely rich in aspalathin, a powerful flavonoid that burns as much fat as compounds in green and black tea.
Aside from increasing your fat burning rate, rooibos tea helps with hunger suppression and will help you reduce your stress hormone levels.
